Uncomplicated.Simple.

it's simple: things i see, things i breathe, things that inspire me, things that make me cry or make me smile...in the streets, in a book, in a magazine, or in a friend's house. people, fashion, style, expression, inspiring.....it's simple...things i like.

CUBE:Georgia Hardinge S/S2012 Collection

Today I had the great honor of attending Georgia Hardinge’s S/S2012 Vauxhall Fashion Scout (London Fashion Week) fashion show at the Freemason’s Hall in Holborn.

I have to admit, at some point I thought I was not going to make it after my boot camp injury, but I had to gather the courage to strap on some heels and head over to check out Georgia’s collection.

I arrived early and decided to have a coffee across the street from the venue, and just sitting there was fascinating; models, designers, journalists walking around the block and sitting at the nearby coffee shops - it was a great spot for people watching, kept me busy for a good hour!

Part of me was nervous, as it was my first Fashion Week show (this one was extra special because I had a short internship working directly with her).  When I arrived, I didn’t have to wait and was treated as a full member of the family and friends of the designer, and was sat on the third row with a decent view of the runway.

Infront of me sat fashion activist Caryn Franklin who sported her beautiful grey hair and to her right wearing one of Georgia’s designs was the upcoming singer Jess Mills who has previously worn Georgia’s designs in her latest music video.

I got overly excited when I saw Caryn Franklin, so I decided to tweet about her being spotted by me.  To my surprise, she replied immediately and a little excitement party started in my stomach! (geeky, I know..)

Finally, the lights went off, the music began…and out came the art down the catwalk. CUBE is the name of Georgia’s S/S2012 collection and cubism and geometric forms were the inspiration for her prints which combined with her architectural designs, gave a perfect combination to represent her talent as a designer and as an artist.

Watch this space because Georgia Hardinge is on the road to being one of London’s most impressive designers!
